BMI made the trip to Salt Lake City recently (8/27) to help educate Utah brewers on the legalities associated with the use music in their taprooms and brewpubs. The educational session, entitled “Pulling Back the Curtain on Music Licensing,” was presented by the Utah Brewers Guild and focused on defining what constitutes the public performance of music and the process breweries must go through to ensure that they are properly licensed to offer live or recorded music in their venues. The UBG is a nonprofit trade organization founded to provide a unified voice for Utah craft breweries, and to help promote and educate its members and the local community regarding craft beer and the craft beer industry.
