BMI Indie Spotlight: Hunter Moreau

Posted in News on February 22, 2022

Hunter Moreau wants us to be more vulnerable. “Stepping outside of your comfort zone is the only way you can truly grow,” she explains. Through her music, the emerging songstress is taking her own advice and captivating listeners along the way. The Mattapoisett, MA (a small seaside town near Cape Cod) native began taking voice lessons at age eight, and at age 12 made it into a community service singing troupe called Showstoppers. Moreau is now using all she learned in Showstoppers to craft her own music, which is a refreshing blend of indie, pop, and soul. Her debut single “Drive In”—written in the aftermath of an intense 11-hour surgery—was released in November 2019 and caught the eye of veteran music managers Ron Shapiro and Joe Hegleman. Fast forward to 2022, and her new song “Sleepyhead” debuted to major fanfare, landing on Spotify’s New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, and Homework Motivation playlists all within a week of its release. “Sleepyhead” and “Drive In” are available to stream now alongside Moreau’s 2021 single, “Hazy.”
