BMI Indie Spotlight: Jackson Sage
Listening to Jackson Sage is an experience best described as glacial: icy blue and enticingly serene, with hypothermic depths. Fusing meticulous lyricism and haunting production, Sage could be the secret musical love child of Thom Yorke and Taylor Swift, despite in real life being a New York-meets-Seattle kid raised on Paul Simon, Soundgarden, Carole King, and Kurt Cobain. Her first two singles, “I Don’t Wanna Be Your Lover” and “Half Truth,” (both out now) are the first taste of her upcoming debut EP, Indelible. Sage describes the project as living in the arctic waters between grunge, pop, and alt rock, blurring the line between delicate poetry and brutal emotion.
