Los Angeles-based James Mantis is a singer/songwriter that isn’t afraid to blur the lines. Mantis showcases his ability to play with different sounds and textures, executing his ambition to create something unique and completely his own. Following his standout EP, Jab Step Pop, which secured him a ‘Best New Artist’ accolade from Pigeons and Planes, Mantis has continued to roll out projects demonstrating his strength in blending genres, combining elements of alternative rock, hip-hop, and dreamy electronica - most recently, the Jack Laboz and Christian Lum-produced, “MAMES.” Aligning with artists who challenge industry standards and sonic expectations, his music refuses to be labeled or defined.
