BMI Indie Spotlight: Livingston
Drake Livingston, known professionally as Livingston, is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter and producer from Denton, Texas. Raised on 2010s pop music, Livingston gravitates towards pop-influenced sounds, but adds his own twist by using outré production choices and a pristine sense of storytelling. On the heels of his 2020 debut EP Lighthouse, which amassed over 56 million streams on Spotify, Livingston released his second album, An Unlikely Origin Story, in 2021. He’s dropped a number of emotional yet uplifting singles with his latest, “Last Man Standing’” released earlier this year. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, Livingston’s music pairs deeply personal, intimate, emotional lyrics and melodies alongside larger-than-life arrangements, production, and musical layers.
