BMI Indie Spotlight: Maddie Medley

Posted in News on March 30, 2020

The strange and treacherous world of growing up is the theme explored by singer/songwriter, Maddie Medley, on her debut EP, Coming of Age, Pt. 1. With a beguiling voice and penetrative songwriting that is equally informed by both Patsy Cline and riot grrrl bands of the ‘90s, Medley is using her music to share stories of loss, frustration, and relationships gone awry. The Nashville-based indie/alternative artist is signed to Elektra Records and worked on her project’s title track with GRAMMY Award-winning producer, Dave Cobb (The Highwomen, Chris Stapleton, and Lady Gaga, among others). At just 22 years old, she hopes that careful processing of her messiest emotions will positively impact her listeners: “If I have one hope for my music, it’s that it provides some kind of healing for people.” Medley is hard at work on Coming of Age, Pt. 2 and is finishing up a tour with Brent Cobb. With over 32,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, we’re certain that this up-and-comer will come of age in the most exciting way possible.
