BMI Indie Spotlight: Sunday (1994)

Posted in News on July 16, 2024

Comprised of Paige Turner, Lee Newell and enigmatic drummer “X,” Sunday (1994) is a British/American indie trio that plays dreamy, dramatic pop, punctuated by Turner’s gently lilting voice and evocative lyrics of star-crossed trysts and melancholic longing. Richly influenced by cinema, the band’s atmospheric singles like “Blonde, “Stained Glass Window” and “Tired Boy” showcase the band’s storytelling skills and wouldn’t feel at all out of place scoring pivotal movie scenes depicting bittersweet desire. Their latest single, “TV Car Chase,” is a sultry ballad that’s perfect for hopeless romantics.
