BMI Joins Forces With Award-winning Songwriters to Honor Florida Hospitality Executive
The legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville was the site of a very special tribute to a woman in the hospitality industry that has been supporting BMI songwriters for more than 20 years. Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association President and CEO Carol Dover was honored recently (2/27) by BMI and a handful of hit songwriters who have been positively impacted by both her generosity and advocacy. During her tenure as head of one of the most respected restaurant and lodging associations in the country, Dover has made supporting songwriters one of her major priorities, which is evident by the number of songwriter festivals the FRLA has sponsored over the years and the help she has provided BMI in advocating for songwriters both judicially and legislatively. The Bluebird tribute show was spearheaded by Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee Aaron Barker and his wife Theresa, and featured Warner Brothers recording artist Charlie Worsham, iconic artist/songwriter Bruce Channel and country hitmakers Tim James, Dylan Altman, Bridgette Tatum and Earl Bud Lee. The evening was capped by BMI’s presentation of a Gold Record to Dover.
