BMI Latin Spotlight: Diamante Electrico

Diamante Eléctrico is a Colombian rock band blending harmonies of blues, funk, rock, pop, punk, indie rock, and R&B. The group, led by Juan Galeano and Daniel Álvarez, is one of the hottest acts out of Colombia in recent years. The band has released six studio albums, including B (2015) and La Gran Oscilación (2016), both of which won the Latin GRAMMY for Best Rock Album, along with a slew of hit singles such as the Latin GRAMMY-winning “Déjala Rodar.” The group earned its first GRAMMY nomination in 2021 for Mira Lo Que Me Hiciste Hacer, which was dedicated to their late engineer, Daniel Bustos. Diamante Eléctrico released their latest album, Leche de Tigre, in March 2023, followed by their EP, LVRBOY, earlier this year. Together, Galeano and Álvarez have brought their infectious live show to some of the world’s biggest festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Vive Latino, Rock Al Parque, and Eurockéennes. They have also shared the stage with the Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, and The Raconteurs and collaborated with icons such as Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Enrique Bunbury, and Adrián Quesada of the Black Pumas.

Diamante Eléctrico es una banda colombiana de rock que combina armonías de blues, funk, rock, pop, punk, indie rock y R&B. El grupo, encabezado por Juan Galeano y Daniel Álvarez, es uno de los más populares de Colombia en años recientes. La banda sacó seis álbumes de estudio, entre ellos B(2015) y La gran oscilación (2016), ambos de los cuales ganaron el Latin GRAMMY por Mejor Álbum de Rock, además de varios populares sencillos como “Déjala rodar”, ganador del Latin GRAMMY. El grupo se hizo merecedor de su primera nominación al GRAMMY en 2021 por Mira lo que me hiciste hacer, que dedicó a su fallecido ingeniero, Daniel Bustos. Diamante Eléctrico sacó su álbum más reciente, Leche de tigre, en marzo de 2023, seguido por su EP LVRBOY a comienzos de este año.
