BMI Latin Spotlight: Los Aptos
Hailing from Fort Wayne, IN, rising Mexican trio Los Aptos has captured the hearts of millions of listeners around the world with striking music that speaks to the complexities of life and love. With the band’s members yet to enter their 20s, they’re only getting started. The group began taking shape when friends Juan Ortega and Jonathan Rivera started playing music together in high school before going viral with covers they posted online. Their first original tracks were written in 2020, two of which saw success on digital platforms (“Eres Tú” and “Enamorado”), and their debut EP, Mis Ilusiones, dropped the same year. Their output continued into 2021 with the Lluvia Y Sol LP and even further into 2022 with their single, “Confiar En Mí” under the Warner Music Latina/VPS Music label. That same year, Los Aptos’ third member, Daniel Isaias Vaides, came on board to take over keyboards and assist with recording and production. Now on their ascent to global stardom, they released an original Christmas song as part of the Spotify Singles series and solidified their stage presence as a guest act on DannyLux’s 2022 U.S. tour. With a soulful sound that draws on the best of ‘80s rock, pop, and Mexican, as well as artists like Bruno Mars and Cuco, they are hard at work on their highly anticipated new album, due out in March 2023.
El nuevo trío mexicano Los Aptos de Fort Wayne, IN se ha ganado el corazón de millones de oyentes en todo el mundo con música de impacto que habla de las complejidades de la vida y el amor. Los miembros de la banda todavía no cumplen los 20 años, o sea que recién empiezan. El grupo empezó a formarse cuando los amigos Juan Ortega y Jonathan Rivera comenzaron a tocar música juntos en la secundaria y luego las canciones que sacaron en internet se hicieron virales. Compusieron sus primeras creaciones en 2020 y dos de ellas alcanzaron el éxito en plataformas digitales (“Eres tú” y “Enamorado”). Su EP de estreno, Mis ilusiones, salió el mismo año. Sus producciones siguieron en 2021 con el elepé Lluvia y sol y en 2022 con la sencilla “Confiar en mí” con la disquera Warner Music Latina/VPS Music. Ese año se incorporó el tercer miembro de Los Aptos, el tecladista Daniel Isaías Vaides, para ayudar con las grabaciones y producción. Se están volviendo estrellas a nivel internacional. Sacaron un villancico original como parte de la serie Singles de Spotify y afianzaron su presencia como artistas al participar como invitados en la gira de DannyLux en 2022 por Estados Unidos. Con un sonido emotivo que recurre a lo mejor del rock, pop y la música mexicana de los ochenta, además de artistas como Bruno Mars y Cuco, trabajan arduamente en su muy esperado próximo álbum, que saldrá en marzo de 2023.
