BMI Participates in “Women in Music: Making Change Happen” at Cal Lutheran
On Wednesday, February 12, BMI’s Doreen Ringer-Ross, Vice President, Creative Relations, participated in a panel entitled “Women in Music: Making Change Happen” at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The discussion focused on the changing dynamics and landscape of the music industry through the growing presence of women in prominent or executive roles. Ringer-Ross also shared her thoughts on how to best succeed in the digital music age. Moderated by Peter Gordon, Director of New Initiatives at Cal Lutheran, additional panelists included Lili Haydn, GRAMMY-winning rock violinist; Miriam Cutler, Emmy-nominated film and television composer; Sarah Kovacs, agent, Kraft-Engel Management; Angie Rubin, music editor (Pitch Perfect, Fifty Shades of Grey, Mamma Mia 2, Grosse Pointe Blank); and Diana LaPointe, Vice President, Film/TV Music at Sony Music Entertainment.
