BMI Presents at The Bluebird Café Series Spotlights Songwriters
BMI returned to the Bluebird Café with a full house on Tuesday, June 25, for its monthly showcase featuring BMI songwriters Jeff Hyde, Kameron Marlowe, Wyatt McCubbin and ASCAP’s Jessi Alexander. BMI’s Shannon Sanders emceed the evening and introduced each songwriter before the round began.
McCubbin kicked off the evening with “All We Were Was Country,” Cody Johnson’s Texas tribute “That’s Texas,” and Zach Top’s latest single “Sounds Like The Radio.” Marlowe made his debut at the historic Nashville venue with the title track “We Were Cowboys,” from his debut album, followed by “Steady Heart,” co-written by both Marlowe and Alexander. Hyde entertained the crowd by sharing stories about his songwriting process and playing Eric Church’s No. One hit, “Some of It,” while debuting unreleased songs. The evening concluded with Alexander giving nods to The University of Tennessee baseball team by performing Morgan Wallen’s “The Way I Talk” and playing Megan Moroney’s “No Caller ID” for the first time.
