BMI was asked to host a music licensing presentation at the Road Runners Club of America’s (RRCA) 59th national conference held recently (3/10) in Detroit. The presentation provided an inside look at the music licensing process, the service BMI provides to RRCA members and the role BMI plays in ensuring songwriters and publishers are paid when their music is publicly performed. BMI closed the presentation with a special performance by award-winning songwriter Kendell Marvel, who performed songs he’s written including “Right Where I Need To Be” (Gary Allen) and “I Won’t Love You Either Way” (Lee Ann Womack), as well as a few songs from his soon-to-be released solo debut album Lowdown and Lonesome.

The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is the oldest, and largest, national association of running organizations dedicated to growing the sport of running. BMI recently launched a partnership with the RRCA that provides an opportunity for discounted licensing fees to RRCA members for the music played during their races.
