BMI Remembers Composer & Music Editor Chris Ledesma
BMI was very saddened to learn of the passing of music editor and longtime affiliate, Chris Ledesma, whose death was announced via a title card during the end credits of this past Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons, the iconic animated program for which he served as music editor for 33 years. He was 64.
In addition to his long career with The Simpsons - on which he worked on every episode of the long-running series until retiring in May of 2022 – Ledesma served as music editor on several major motion pictures, including Pure Country, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Blast from the Past and countless short films, TV movies and series. In addition to his professional work, Ledesma was a true champion for BMI, participating in several conducting workshops over many years as a guest speaker, instructing aspiring music creators on the craft, artistry and history of music editing.
Chris Ledesma will be missed by his friends, fans and family at BMI.
