BMI Singer/Songwriter Alana Springsteen Performs at Rising Through The Ranks Dinner
Celebrating its 16th year, Rising Through the Ranks (RTTR), a two-day management training program for female radio executives, was held last week at BMI’s office on Music Row in Nashville. This year, BMI awarded 26 scholarships to deserving women working in the radio industry in markets across the country. The event is a collaboration between BMI, the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the Mentoring & Inspiring Women in Radio organization (MIW). The sessions featured several presentations by some of the radio industry’s top leaders. In addition, BMI’s Senior Vice President & Chief DE&I Officer Sandye Taylor presented a session on “Harnessing the Power of Inclusivity in Leadership” and RAB Immediate Past President & CEO Erica Farber interviewed BMI award-winning singer/songwriter Trisha Yearwood during the “Having It All” session.
One of the highlights of the program was a performance at the BMI/RTTR dinner by BMI singer/songwriter & Columbia Records/Sony Music Nashville recording artist Alana Springsteen. The dinner was held at Martin’s BBQ Downtown Nashville (08/21). Alana performed songs from her TWENTY SOMETHING extended deluxe edition album. Alana just wrapped up her first U.S. headline run on THE TWENTY SOMETHING TOUR. Earlier this month she performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. This summer, Springsteen has been on the road with Luke Bryan and will be joining Tyler Hubbard’s tour this fall. The RTTR dinner was sponsored in part by Xperi, a long-time supporter of the dinner.
