BMI Songwriters Win Big at 2024 MusicRow Awards
BMI affiliates earned nods at the 36th annual MusicRow Awards on August 27 and received honors in eight of the fourteen categories. Lainey Wilson led the awards by bringing home the coveted title of Entertainer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, while Jelly Roll was named Male Artist of the Year. BMI’s Rooftop on the Row alum and co-writer on Cody Johnson’s “The Painter” Ryan Larkins was named Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year, followed by Ashley Cooke earning Breakthrough Artist-Writer of the Year for her No. One hit, “your place,” and BMI’s Zach Top was named Discovery Artist of the Year. Song of the Year was awarded to Josh Phillips for the solo-written “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson, while Jay Joyce won Producer of the Year.
The MusicRow Awards are Nashville’s longest-running music industry trade publication to honor the achievements of songwriters, artists, producers, and more. Winners are voted on by MusicRow’s subscribers.
