BMI Sponsors Special Concert by Composer A.R. Rahman

BMI was proud to co-sponsor composer A.R. Rahman’s special concert with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Vancouver International Film Festival on October 5. “Supporting the remarkable works of our composers and songwriters is at the heart of what we do,” said Tracy McKnight, BMI’s VP of Creative, Film, TV & Visual Media, “We’re thrilled that VIFF provided A.R. a platform to showcase his exceptional musical artistry and extraordinary talent and that the festival is committed to celebrating exceptional composers worldwide.”

A.R. Rahman is an Indian composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist renowned for his work in Indian cinema. His many accolades include two Academy Awards, two GRAMMY Awards, a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award, among others. This concert served as the world concert premiere of the score of his directorial debut, Le Musk.
