BMI Supports Kara DioGuardi’s Tri-State Rocks

BMI is proud to be sponsoring Tri-State Rocks, a benefit vocal competition open to aspiring singer/songwriters between the ages of 12 to 21 from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Finalists compete in front of music industry veterans Kara DioGuardi, former American Idol judge and GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter; Leslie Stifelman, musical director of Broadway’s Chicago; and Pete Ganbarg, President of A&R of Atlantic Records. Winners receive a mentorship with DioGuardi, a Summer Sessions scholarship to the Berklee College of Music and a cash prize.

Tri-State Rocks is hosted by Inspired Nation, a non-profit organization co-founded by DioGuardi that is devoted to fostering young talent, building community and raising money for charities that benefit youth in need. Hosted by Z100’s Maxwell, this year’s event will take place at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theatre in Peekskill, New York, on October 28 at 5:30 pm. Proceeds will support Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital (a member of WMCHealth), Sunrise Association, Kids Helping Kids and Art Start.
