BMI Teams Up With Song Arts Academy for Production Training of Music Producers
BMI recently sponsored Song Arts Academy’s inaugural Making Awesome Tracks seminar, held at the Manhattan Center’s state-of-the-art Neve flying fader studio in New York City. The two-day seminar brought together some of New York’s best producers working in pop production and 15 producer participants looking to gain deeper practical knowledge of several of the most popular software programs and platforms used in making today’s hit records. Working with producers Jon Buscema and Pablo San Martin, the seminar focused on the Logic, Ableton, and Pro Tools formats, and on training, using specific software programs including Massive, Omnisphere, Battery, Serum, and Sylenth.
To facilitate an environment where participants could creatively flourish, the first day was structured around showing how to use the tools. The second day found the aspiring producers broken into groups to focus on producing tracks to toplines using the skills they learned the day before. Additionally, the seminar featured an emphasis on mixing, effective mastering techniques, achieving great vocal sounds and other challenging aspects of production.
The next in-depth iteration of the Making Awesome Tracks seminar will be held Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, in New York City. The Seminar costs $350.00 and is limited to 15 producers. To sign up/apply, visit Song Arts Making Awesome Tracks Seminar.
