Ten BMI songwriters were honored with the Country Music Association’s coveted “Triple Play” Award, given to the writers who have written three #1 hits in a 12 month period: Rhett Akins, Luke Bryan, Rodney Clawson, Ross Copperman, Dallas Davidson, Brett Eldredge, Jess Frasure, Shay Mooney, Cole Swindell and Carrie Underwood.
Ross Copperman, named the BMI Songwriter of the Year at 2016’s Country Awards, was the only writer awarded a “Double Triple Play” Award, meaning he penned six #1 hits in a year. His chart-toppers include “Break On Me,” “Drunk On Your Love,” “Confession,” “American Country Love Song,” “Setting The World On Fire,” and “I Know Somebody.” Congratulations to all of BMI’s Triple Play Award winners!
