For the sixth consecutive year, Broadcast Music, Inc. once again partnered with the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group (MIW) to proudly present “Rising Through the Ranks,” a seminar dedicated to supporting and advancing women in radio. In addition to the Company hosting the event on August 21-22, 2013, at BMI’s Nashville office, Susan Davenport Austin, Chairman of the BMI Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation and President of Sheridan Gospel Network, delivered the keynote speech.

BMI’s Vice President, Licensing, Dan Spears, also presented, giving an impactful overview of BMI entitled “Tune in with BMI.” Other discussions centered around the role of today’s station manager, Arbitron (a research company that collects listener data on radio audiences), effective problem solving and “real-world radio dynamics.” BMI songwriter Holly Williams, granddaughter of BMI legend Hank Williams, added her support to the event by performing in front of an enthusiastic and engaged crowd during the annual “Rising Through the Ranks” dinner. The RAB once again offered 20 scholarships to cover the cost of the seminar.
