BMI Composers Triumph at 2012 Daytime Emmys
BMI composers won big at the 2012 Daytime Emmy Awards. Composer Doug Katsaros took home the statuette for Outstanding Original Song in recognition of “(Won’t You) Join Our Parade” for the 85th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, while composer/lyricist Benjamin West’s “Dust” for General Hospital earned honors Outstanding Original Song for a Drama Series.
Lead composer Larry Hochman clinched Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for The Wonder Pets!, and composer Adam Berry’s “In the Happy Little Land of Hoboken Surprise” from Penguins of Madagascar scored Outstanding Original Song – Children’s and Animation.
BMI composers Benjamin Wynn and Jeremy Zuckerman took home trophies for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Animation thanks to their editing work on Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.
