BMI Congratulates the 2015 Abe Olman Scholarship Winners
Although the competition was nothing short of fierce, the creative efforts of BMI songwriters Carlo Colasacco and Hailey Knox recently paid off in the form of 2015 Abe Olman Scholarships for each. The prestigious scholarships, which are presented by BMI and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, are made possible each year by the Olman family to help promising songwriters in the early stages of their careers in honor of the career of Abe Olman, a lifelong songwriter and major figure in the music publishing community. As aspiring music-makers, both Colasacco and Knox fit the ready-to-take-off prerequisite: Carlo has had major cuts with the band Shinedown, and European pop artist Sakis Rouvas, as well as having placed songs on networks NBC, ABC, and MTV; Hailey’s soulful voice, infectious rhythmic guitar playing and unique songwriting skills have caught the ears of legendary music executive Steve Greenberg, who signed her to his S-Curve Records label, with a debut release expected by early next year. Congratulations, Carlo and Hailey, on jobs well done!
