BMI, Dominic ‘Uncle Junior’ Chianese Boost Copyright Alliance Expo

Posted in News on September 23, 2010

BMI stood front and center at the fourth annual Copyright Alliance Annual Exposition, held Sept. 22 in Washington, as BMI songwriter Dominic Chianese, better known to many as “Uncle Junior” on the mega-hit HBO series The Sopranos, spent the day discussing the importance of copyright protection with Expo attendees.

Senator Patrick Leahy, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, spent considerable time discussing copyright issues with Chianese and BMI Senior VP Fred Cannon at the BMI booth, as did Congressman Howard Coble and Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn.

Chianese’s presence at and impact on the Expo was covered in Capitol Hill news outlets Politico and Roll Call, noting his discussions with members of Congress and his time spent as a child living in the D.C. area.
