BMI Foundation’s Ralph Jackson Receives Letter of Distinction

Ralph N. Jackson, President of the BMI Foundation, Inc., received the prestigious American Music Center’s Letter of Distinction at a recent reception held at the Chelsea Art Museum.

The honor, created to recognize those who have made a significant contribution to the field of contemporary American music, also awarded T.J. Anderson and John Corigliano.

The American Music Center (AMC) has been awarding the Letter of Distinction annually since 1964. This year’s Letter of Distinction recipients join a celebrated group of individuals and organizations who have received this honor, including George Balanchine, Leonard Bernstein, Dave Brubeck, John Cage, Aaron Copland, Merce Cunningham, Morton Feldman, Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Reich, Stephen Sondheim, Michael Tilson Thomas, Virgil Thomson, the Kronos Quartet, Bang on a Can, and the American Composers Orchestra.
