BMI joined the Florida Association of Broadcasters (FAB) in honoring two legends: Scripps Senior Vice President – Television Brian Lawlor and GRAMMY award-winning BMI singer/songwriter Harry “KC” Casey of KC and the Sunshine Band. Lawlor was awarded the 2014 Bill Brooks Award while “KC” received the FAB’s Service to Florida Award. As a tribute to the legendary performer and composer, BMI affiliate Hugh Mitchell performed “I’m Your Boogie Man” and “Make Me A Star.” The ceremony took place during a dinner at the Eden Roc Resort in Miami Beach on June 25, when the FAB was holding its annual convention.
