BMI brought in legendary rocker Randy Bachman to Washington, D.C. recently (12/4/15) to keynote this year’s Nielsen Audio Client Conference with a session on the “Art of Songwriting.” The founder, lead guitarist and songwriter for iconic bands Bachman Turner Overdrive and the Guess Who, shared the stories behind some of the biggest hits he penned for the groups, including “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” “No Sugar Tonight,” “Taking Care of Business,” ‘Let it Ride” and “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.” He also talked about how digital platforms have changed the music industry from both a listener perspective, as well as an artist’s, and what the future looks like as a content creator. The storyteller session was led by Entercom’s Dave Beasing, who currently serves as Program Director of LA’s classic rock station, KSWD-FM, “The Sound.”  The Nielsen Audio Client Conference was held at the Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center and was attended by radio program directors, consultants and on-air talent from across the country.
