busbee Shows His Versatility With Multi-Genre BMI Awards

Posted in News on July 3, 2014

Broadcast Music, Inc. hit songwriter busbee recently achieved the rare benchmark of having won BMI Awards at the Company’s Pop, Country, Christian, and London Award shows. At the 2013 BMI Pop Awards and the 2012 London Awards, his smash hit “Darkside,” performed by Kelly Clarkson, was celebrated as one of the most performed songs. Also at the 2013 Pop Awards, his “Try,” performed by P!nk, made it into the same category. At the Company’s 2011 Country Awards, he was honored for “Storm Warning,” recorded by Hunter Hayes, and most recently at the BMI Christian Awards, he was given highly deserved accolades for “You Are,” performed by Colton Dixon.

When we asked busbee, in his 2012 interview with BMI MusicWorld, if there are any common ingredients in writing songs, he replied, “The only thing that I can point to for what a hit song is, is memorability. Every hit song is memorable, and by and large those are the songs I’m trying to write.”

Congratulations, busbee!
