Members of BMI’s country family made multiple trips to the stage during the inaugural American Country Awards ceremony, staged Monday, December 6 in Las Vegas, as BMI songwriter/artists took home 90% of the awards. Carrie Underwood took home six of the show’s custom Fender guitar awards: Artist and Female Artist of the Year, as well as Album for Play On, Female Single and Female Music Video for “Cowboy Casanova,” and Touring Package of the Year.

Lady Antebellum also enjoyed a big night, winning Artist of the Year in the Duo or Group field, as well as Single, Duo or Group Single, and Duo or Group Music Video for crossover hit “Need You Now.” Easton Corbin underscored his breakout year with an Artist of the Year win in the Breakthrough Artist category, along with Breakthrough Artist Single and Breakthrough Artist Music Video for his career-launching chart-topper “A Little More Country Than That.”

Blake Shelton took home two guitars thanks to “Hillbilly Bone”: Music Video and Male Music Video of the Year. Josh Turner also had a reason to smile, as the charming “Why Don’t We Just Dance” was named Male Single of the Year.

Rascal Flatts received the Decade Award, which recognizes the trio’s format-shaping success, while Toby Keith became the first Video Visionary Award recipient in honor of his pioneering use of the music video.
