Chiara Kramer Joins BMI as Associate Director, Writer/Publisher Relations in LA
Chiara Kramer has joined BMI as Associate Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, Los Angeles, it was announced today by Barbara Cane, Vice President/General Manager, Writer/Publisher Relations, Los Angeles for BMI. Kramer will report to both Cane and Tracie Verlinde, Executive Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, in Los Angeles.
In her new position at the performing right organization, Kramer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with BMI songwriters and music publishers in Los Angeles and throughout the Southwest region. She will also assist BMI writers and publishers with administrative and creative functions and help coordinate local and national songwriter events, showcases and seminars.
“Chiara has been building an impressive career in the music industry since she was a student at USC,” said Cane. “She is a smart, savvy young executive who we feel will provide a new perspective to the business of music and a vital level of service to our songwriters and music publishers. The expanse of experience that she brings with her to BMI – from studio operations and publishing, to music supervision and public relations – will be a great asset to our affiliates.”
Kramer joins BMI from Sony Music/Epic Records where she was Manager, A&R Operations. There, she collaborated with A&R staff, artist management and A&R administration in handling the coordination of all aspects of the recording process. Prior to Epic Records, Kramer interned at EMI Music Publishing, Epic Records, Fuel TV and Wavegroup Sound. She was the founder of the “Alive…And Loving Life” non-profit concert series in Los Gatos, CA, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Industry from the University of Southern California, with a minor in Business Administration.
