Composer David Heymann Awarded BMI/Jerry Goldsmith Scholarship
BMI Vice President, Film/TV Relations, Doreen Ringer-Ross, and Program Director, UCLA Extension Entertainment Studies, Pascale Cohen-Olivar, proudly announced that David Heymann has won the 2016 BMI/Jerry Goldsmith Film Scoring Scholarship at UCLA Extension. The announcement was made at BMI’s Los Angeles office with BMI’s Assistant Vice President, Film/TV Relations, Ray Yee, on hand to present the scholarship to Heymann.
The scholarship, which is named after Oscar and Emmy Award-winning film and television composer Jerry Goldsmith, is an annual award that partially underwrites the student recipient’s study in UCLA Extension’s Film Scoring Program. The program is part of the school’s continuing education offerings, and is designed to help composers develop the specialized skills and contacts needed to pursue a successful career in film scoring.
