Congress Continues to Lend Support for Songwriters

Representative Karen Bass (D-CA-37) (@repkarenbass), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, has signed on as a co-sponsor of H.R. 1283, the Songwriter Equity Act of 2015. Reintroduced in March by Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA-9) (@RepDougCollins), the bill continues to gain the support of members of Congress from around the country. Bass joins lead Democratic co-sponsor and Judiciary Committee member Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY-8) (@RepJeffries) in support of this bill. Bass sits on the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet. She also serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and is a member of the Creative Rights Caucus (@RespectCreators).
