Congressional Support for Songwriters Continues to Grow

Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-CA) (@repkarenbass), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, has signed on as a co-sponsor of H.R. 4079, the Songwriter Equity Act of 2014. The bill, which was introduced in February by Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA) (@RepDougCollins), continues to gain the support of Congressional members from around the country. Bass joins lead Democratic co-sponsor and fellow Judiciary Committee member Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) (@RepJeffries) in support of this bill. As a member of the Judiciary Committee, Bass sits on the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet. She also serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and is a member of the Creative Rights Caucus (@RespectCreators).
