BMI staged the 2nd annual Crested Butte Songwriters Festival in the breathtakingly beautiful ski resort town of Crested Butte from January 16-19. In addition to celebrating the heroes behind a jaw-dropping number of hit songs, the 2013 installment of the festival raised more than $40,000 for Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink and the TJ Martell Foundation.
An inspired collection of country, rock and pop music’s most-performed BMI songwriters including Dean Dillon, Chris Young, Marti Frederiksen, Even Stevens, Paul Overstreet, Colin Lake, Wendell Mobley, Bri Bagwell, Rodney Clawson, Nicolle Galyon, and Kylie Sackley joined the host city’s premier local talent, including Tyler Hansen and Stephanie Lane Stevenson, Bill Dowell, andChris Coady for packed live shows full of stories and smashes at favorite Crested Butte venues Maxwell’s, Talk of the Town, Lobar, the Eldo, Center for the Arts, and Elevation Hotel.
Festival-goers soaked up once-in-a-lifetime performances, bid on incredible auction items, and joined the songwriters on the slopes for skiing, boarding, and snowmobiling in one of the most desirable winter destinations in the country, all for the sake of raising funds to fuel the fight against cancer.
