Crowds Believe in Magic at Lovin’ Spoonful Tribute Concert

Posted in News on March 3, 2020

For the first time since their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction 20 years ago, the surviving original members of the iconic band Lovin’ Spoonful, John Sebastian, Steve Boone and Joe Butler, performed together during a tribute concert in their honor at the Alex Theatre in Los Angeles. As part of the Wild Honey shows that pay homage to veteran music makers, guest musicians saluting the Spoonful on Sunday included Dave Alvin, Carla Olson, Elliot Easton, Susan Cowsill and Mickey Dolenz, to name a few. Some of the renowned band’s megahits include “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Summer in the City” and “Day Dream.” Pictured (L-R) backstage at the Lovin’ Spoonful tribute concert are David Bendett, Catherine Sebastian, BMI’s Doreen Ringer-Ross, and John Sebastian.
