With the ever-changing notion of “family,” the renowned Echo Society explored the intimacy and complex experience of bonds that tie our lives together during a festival of music October 20, 21, and 22. Set in a residence from the Golden Age of Hollywood, nestled atop the hills of Silverlake with breathtaking views of surrounding Los Angeles, the festival featured original works by 21 Los Angeles-based composers and special guests exploring the common theme of family. Each evening, seven different composers presented or performed original works simultaneously in seven rooms of the house with guests free to explore the rooms inside the estate and discover the various performances as the evenings unfolded. The BMI composers whose works were featured included: Ben Wynn, Heather McIntosh, Jeremy Zuckerman, Morgan Kibby, Rob Simonsen, and Minna Choi.
