GI Jams Spotlight Troops and Troubadours

Posted in News on April 13, 2011

BMI songwriter Denny Randell is working to ensure that the voices of American men and women in uniform are heard. A veteran hitmaker whose work includes megahits “Working My Way Back to You” and “Let’s Hang On,” featured in the Tony-winning Broadway show Jersey Boys, Smash Mouth’s “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby,” and “Native New Yorker,” Randell has partnered with Biddy Schippers to launch GI Jams, a new series of compilation albums featuring original songs written and performed by active duty and veteran military.

GI Jams, Vol. 1: The Original Music of Our Military Artists features 14 tracks from members of the U.S. Army, Marines, and Air Force, spanning country, pop, rock, and inspirational genres. Plans are currently underway for future volumes, and all profits will go to the participating artists.
