Indie Spotlight Decade Rewind: lovelytheband
Los Angeles-based lovelytheband came roaring onto the scene with their 2017 single, “broken,” which spent nine weeks at #1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Now double platinum, the track was featured on the band’s first EP, everything i could never say…, and on their 2018 album, finding it hard to smile. Since their debut, they have performed around the world on their own headlining tours and as openers for 5 Seconds of Summer, LANY, AWOLNATION, Vance Joy, and The Wrecks; they also made stops at Hangout Festival, Lollapalooza, ACL, and the Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival. lovelytheband first appeared on our Indie Spotlight in 2018, and in 2019, they won the iHeartRadio Music Award for Best New Rock/Alternative Artist. Earlier this year, they dropped their new LP, conversations with myself about you, featuring fan favorites like “buzz cut” and “loneliness for love.”
