Indie Spotlight: Francisco the Man

Posted in News on May 11, 2010

Francisco the Man is an American indie rock band from Southern California. Formed in late 2006, the band’s current line-up includes Scotty Cantino (vocals / guitar), Nestor Romero (bass) and Abdeel Ortega (drums). After former member Joel Bond’s departure, the band took an extended hiatus to write, record and finish school. The new Francisco the Man recently released a new 12’ EP entitled “With Friends Like You.” The group’s fresh material has once again begun to grab the greater Los Angeles area’s attention, prompting respected LA Buzz Bands writer Kevin Bronson to praise the group’s “garagey psych-folk” and proclaim that Francisco the Man “takes a huge step on its second EP.”
