Indie Spotlight: Stalking Gia

Posted in News on September 14, 2016

Before she was Stalking Gia, named after her character in the online game World of Warcraft, Tiffany Giardina had early successes when songs from her 2009 debut album, No Average Angel, were used in movies like Another Cinderella Story and Disney’s Tinker Bell. Fast forward and we find her co-writing with Stevie Aiello (Thirty Seconds To Mars) and Alex Suarez (Cobra Starship), signing with Warner/Chappell, and releasing her new single “Second Nature,” which is garnering massive attention. It has more than 1.5 million plays on Spotify to date and has been featured on playlists including New Music Friday and Pop Rising. Although she’s been compared to artists like Tove Lo, Banks, and Lana Del Rey, Stalking Gia has a distinctive sound all her own thanks to her evocative vocals and infectious grooves. Wild Honey Pie notes, “Right off the bat, Stalking Gia’s latest single, ‘Second Nature,’ envelopes you in a deep, sultry bass and a beat reminiscent of a thumping heart … The result is cozy, dreamy and subtly vulnerable.” Nylon sums it up, “Stalking Gia’s songs … are laced with a passion that thrives on individuality and quirkiness.”
