Indie Spotlight: The Wellspring

Posted in News on October 1, 2013

The creative partnership forged between Dov Rosenblatt and Talia Osteen, who make up The Wellspring, came out of a chance encounter in 2009 in New York City. Osteen, a former film industry executive who had dabbled in singing, found an untapped urge to write poetry that came pouring out as lyrics once she met Rosenblatt, already a seasoned musician at the time. The folk pop tunes the duo created together quickly landed them a tour across North America opening for high-profile artists Pete Yorn and Ben Kweller. With two EPs behind them - the first of which was named Indie Album of the Year by Examiner.com - The Wellspring will soon release The Girl Who Cried Sheep, the band’s full-length album produced by the Grammy-nominated Eric Rosse (Tori Amos, Sara Bareilles). The project has already garnered buzz in Billboard and HITS magazine. Visit The Wellspring’s website to score free downloads and check out Rosenblatt’s side project, Distant Cousins.
