BMI, in conjunction with Gibson Guitar and Billboard magazine, presented its bi-monthly “Industry Insider” series to 85 attendees on “Groups That Support You and Your Music” on August 14 at the Gibson Baldwin New York Showroom.

BMI’s Charlie Feldman moderated the event, which included guest speakers Elizabeth Healy from the Recording Academy; attorney Neeta Ragoowansi from SoundExchange; attorney Alexei Auld from Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts; and Peter Bliss from the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. Panelist’s discussed their respective music organizations and the services they offer to songwriters, musicians and artists.

The “Insider Series” offers a look into making and marketing music. Noted industry taste-makers provide insight on topics affecting songwriters, musicians, managers and the industry at large. The next panel, entitled “Publishing 101: You’ve Got a Hit, Now What,” will be held October 9.
