Industry Spotlight: Southern Ground Artists, Inc.
Zac Brown is bringing his roots to the masses with the launch of his record label Southern Ground Artists, Inc., dedicated to developing, introducing and promoting some of Georgia’s brightest rising stars. Artists signed to Southern Ground include Sonia Leigh, the Wood Brothers, Blackberry Smoke, Levi Lowrey and Nic Cowan. “I’d like to think there’s a movement coming out of Atlanta that’s like [Memphis-based soul label] Stax was, back in the ’60s,” Brown said in an interview with The Tennessean. Southern Ground Artists, Inc. has select tracks from each artist available for streaming.
