Latin Spotlight: Lil Geniuz

Lil Geniuz is a chart-topping producer, engineer, songwriter, and label CEO who is recognized as a significant player in the mainstream success of Latin trap music. His father was a musician and percussionist in the salsa band, La Continuación, and Geniuz learned to play instruments and create beats early on. His breakthrough came in 2014 as a producer on Farruko’s “Los Menores,” and the next year was even more successful for him as he worked on the hits “Ninguno Se Monta” by Ñengo Flow and “Punto G” by Darell & Brytiago. Since then, Geniuz has produced and/or written for artists like Smoke Purp, Lil Baby, Ozuna, Anuel AA, Rauw Alejandro, and many more. He recently started his own namesake label, Geniuz Records, and is working on his debut album.


Lil Geniuz es un exitoso productor, ingeniero, compositor y director ejecutivo de una disquera, y es reconocido como un importante protagonista en el éxito de la música trap latina en la corriente principal. Su padre era músico y percusionista en el grupo de salsa La Continuación, y Geniuz aprendió a tocar instrumentos y crear sus propios ritmos a temprana edad. Despuntó en 2014 como productor de “Los menores” de Farruko, y el año siguiente alcanzó incluso mayor reconocimiento cuando trabajó en los éxitos “Ninguno se monta” de Ñengo Flow y “Punto G” de Darell & Brytiago. Desde entonces, Geniuz ha producido o compuesto para artistas como Smoke Purp, Lil Baby, Ozuna, Anuel AA, Rauw Alejandro, entre muchos otros. Recientemente lanzó su propia disquera, Geniuz Records, y se dedica a su álbum de estreno.
