Lily Allen Wins Big at Ivor Novellos
The 55th annual Ivor Novellos celebrated the best of musical Britain’s past year on Thursday, May 20 in London. For Lily Allen (PRS), the evening shook with career-defining accolades as she shared coveted Songwriter of the Year honors with Greg Kurstin and PRS for Music Most-Performed Song of the Year for “The Fear,” which was also named Best Song Lyrically and Musically.
Neil Sedaka received the Special International Award, while Paul Weller (PRS) of the Jam and the Style Council fame was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement honor. Trevor Horn (PRS) garnered the PRS for Music Outstanding Contribution to British Music commendation, and the incomparable multi-instrumentalist Johnny Marr (PRS), who has served in The Smiths, The Cribs, and Modest Mouse, was celebrated with the Ivors Inspiration Award.
