London’s BMI/Hit Sheet Series Caps Off Successful 2008

Posted in News on December 10, 2008

The final 2008 edition of BMI/Hit Sheet night in London drew more than 200 fans and industry executives to Cobden Club in Notting Hill on Wednesday, November 26. Performers included country-tinged roots band RedSkyJuly, fronted by singer-songwriters Shellie Poole & Charity; buzz-magnets the Alex Root Band; and up-and-coming singer-songwriter Lou Cowell. The stout lineup also prompted current trend-shaping artists to join the audience, including Norwegian songwriter Ina Wroldsen, whose compositions have recently found homes with the Pussycat Dolls and new Polydor Recs UK girl band The Saturdays. A promising talent turning major heads in the UK, Wroldsen has recently collaborated with top-tier writer-producers including Steve Mac, Guy Chambers, and Jorgen Eloffsen.
