BMI treated more than 100 municipal lawyers to a special performance by up-and-coming Nashville duo Muddy Magnolias at the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) annual conference held recently (9/13) in Baltimore. Muddy Magnolias are Mississippi transplant Kallie North and Brooklyn native Jessy Wilson, who entertained the group with their unique and dynamic blend of country, R & B and funk. The duo was signed recently to I.R.S. Records Nashville, a division of Capitol Records. Prior to inking their deal, the twosome made a huge impact at CMA Music Fest by being named by Rolling Stone as the “Best Unsigned Duo” at the festival.

IMLA is a non-profit, professional organization that has been an advocate and resource for local government attorneys since 1935. BMI works closely with their members to ensure their respective municipalities are properly licensed to publicly perform BMI music.
