Randy Edelman Continues to Bring His Music to the People

Posted in News on October 14, 2024

It’s been a busy season for legendary singer/songwriter, film and television composer, producer, and longtime BMI affiliate Randy Edelman. Having already established himself as a consummate music creator by crafting and producing hits for recording artists like The Carpenters, Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, Nelly, Labelle, Olivia Newton-John, Nancy Wilson, Kool & the Gang and many more, as well as scoring films like Twins, Ghostbusters II, The Last of the Mohicans, Kindergarten Cop, My Cousin Vinny and over a hundred more, Edelman never truly sees fit to rest on his laurels. Last month, he released Waltzing on a High Wire, the songwriter’s 15th solo album, featuring a rich, nuanced collection of heartfelt songs about his life and experiences in the music industry and beyond.

In the wake of that release, Edelman has been taking his music to the people. In late September, he opened the entertainment segment of a special five-hour Pause for World Peace concert in New York City’s Times Square, and then, immediately afterwards, headed out to the East End of Long Island to perform a concert that same day at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. On October 26, Edelman will be hosting the 10th anniversary ceremony of the Josie Music Awards at the CMA Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame, only to be honored the next day, October 27, with the Josie’s prestigious Songwriters Legend Award, followed by a performance at the Grand Ole Opry House.

All of these activities culminate with two career-spanning performances, the first on December 8 at Carnegie Hall and the second at Lincoln Center on June 6, 2025, truly landmark achievements for any music creator. BMI congratulates Randy Edelman on these career milestones and applaud him for his long, creative journey.
