As has become tradition, BMI provided the entertainment at the Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA) annual Silver Dome awards dinner held recently (6/06) in Normal, Illinois. This year’s awards show theme was “That 70th Show” to celebrate IBA’s 70th year of serving broadcasters throughout the state. Appropriate to the event, BMI engaged Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Terry Sylvester of the 70’s super group, The Hollies, to perform for the more than 200 radio and TV executives from across the state. Sylvester is best known for having replaced Graham Nash in the Hollies, and helping the group go on to record the smash hits “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress” and “The Air that I Breathe.”
