San Diego Music Thing: Discounts, Panels & Showcases Galore, Sept. 9 & 10

Posted in News on September 2, 2011

The San Diego Music Thing—formerly the North Park Music Thing—will roll out its fourth annual sound and schmooze fest on September 9 and 10 in the sunny host city. BMI is a proud sponsor of the event, which features panels that address hot-topic entertainment industry issues and indie artist career growth by day, and full schedules of showcases by more than 150 performers at 15 local venues by night.

BMI will present a stacked showcase on Friday, September 9 at Soda Bar (3615 El Cajon Blvd.). Kicking off at 8 p.m. and not slowing down until 2 a.m., the show will feature the New Division, DWNTWN, Youngblood Hawk, Chairs Missing and Eli James.

The following day, BMI’s Tavi Shabestari will participate in the No Matter What You Do, It’s Always all about the Song panel, slated for 4:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Hotel (2223 El Cajon Blvd).

BMI songwriters, composers and music publishers can score two-day tickets for $10 less than the general public. To claim the discount, purchase tickets now and enter code SDMT_2011 when prompted. The offer expires Monday, September 5.
